Producer of the Agricultural Cooperative of Zakros. His vision is to get the precious olive oil of Zakros to every home.
Giannis is 50 years old and has been growing olive trees for half his lifetime. His main occupation is general trade, a business he maintains in Zakros, while olive cultivation helps him make a living for his family, as well as his own need for contact with nature. He is a restless farmer, also engaged in viticulture and beekeeping.
From his experience, speaking about the excellent relations among the producers of the Agricultural Cooperative of Zakros, he distinguishes vision, communication, understanding, trust, and an open mind, as key components for any team to be functional.
He himself consumes olive oil as a basic ingredient of the Mediterranean diet, but also as medicine. Like most Greeks, producers or not, he considers it to be necessary for every household. He attributes the uniqueness of the olive oil of Zakros to the soil components of the area and encourages friends to consume it without hesitation, with trust! His vision is to make the precious olive oil of Zakros available to the whole world.
His relationship with nature has taught him not to violate its laws, and to respect it, a lesson he wants to convey to those around him. In return for his care, nature gives him peace, joy and the unique sense of his efforts being rewarded.
